Bobbye Clements Downs

Bobbye Clements Downs, 85, died Friday, March 27, 2015, in Wheeler. Graveside services will be at 1:00 PM Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at Fairview Cemetery with Rev. Norman Rushing, pastor of Central Baptist Church, officiating. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Downs was born September 15, 1929 in O’Donnell, Texas to Bob and Ruth Clements and was a graduate of Pampa High School. She married Bill Downs on October 30, 1960 in Los Angeles, California. Bobbye lived in several communities before returning to Pampa in 1965. She was office manager and co-owner of Bob Clements Dry Cleaners for 30 years. She was a member of First Baptist Church. Bobbye was a kindhearted, loving wife, and everyone that met her loved her. She was preceded in death by her parents and by a brother, Bill Clements. Survivors include her husband, Bill Downs, of the home; a nephew, Rob Clements and wife Dianna of Carlsbad, NM; two cousins, Jim Roy Clements and wife Mary of Alba and Don Clements and wife Adele of Hereford; a special lifelong friend, Nancy K. Wills of Palm Bay, Florida; and two godchildren, Nance Dawn Wills, of Pampa and Carl Thomas Wills of Palm Bay, Florida. Memorials may be made to a favorite charity.
