Ray Currie, 79, of Pampa, died March 29, 2015 in Amarillo. Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, April 3, 2015, at Trinity Fellowship with Rev. Lonny Robbins, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Currie was born July 29, 1935 in Groesbeck. He was a machinist with Specialty Compression in Borger. He married Verline Boydston on April 12, 1974 in Pampa. Ray was a veteran, serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a member of Trinity Fellowship. He loved working on cars and loved spending time with his grandchildren. Ray enjoyed eating his son-in-law Steve’s barbeque. He dearly loved his wife and took good care of her and would do anything for his children. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Verline Currie of the home; five daughters, Tina Salinas and husband Steve of Big Spring, Stacie Reyna, Teressa Harrell and Alicia Currie, all of Austin, and Patricia Lara of Hot Springs, Arkansas; two brothers, Dana Hodges of Waco and Billy Hodges of Mesquite; a sister, Linda Allen of Corsicana; 17 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM Thursday, April 2, 2015, at 2133 Hamilton in Pampa.
