Michel James Tice

Michel James Tice, 52, of Skellytown, died April 14, 2015 in Hutchinson County, Texas. Services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 18, 2015, at Calvary Baptist Church in Pampa, with Rev. Rob Lackey, Baptist minister of Panhandle, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mike was born October 8, 1962 in Pampa. He attended Skellytown and White Deer Schools. He lived most of his life working in the oil fields of the Texas Panhandle as a pumper. Mike married Lee Tice on August 3, 1987 in Skellytown. He was passionate about the city of Skellytown. He dedicated most of his time throughout the years to the fire department, city council and any other ways to improve the town he loved. He loved camping, fishing, and cooking for family and friends. Mike was preceded in death by his father Bennie George Tice, and wife Lee Tice. Survivors include two sons, Kory Tice and wife Kara, and Mikah Tice; one daughter, Kala Griffith and husband Michael; his mother Elsie Tice; one brother, Bennie G. Tice and wife Sharon; two sisters, Sherry Beall and husband David and Dianna Bailey; a granddaughter, Breklyn “Knewt” Tice; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many, many special friends.
