Ramona Portillo

Ramona Portillo, 73, of Pampa, died Friday, April 17, 2015, in Pampa. Vigil service and rosary will be at 6:00 PM Sunday in Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:00 AM Tuesday, April 21, 2015 at St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church with Rev. Francisco Perez, pastor, officiating. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Portillo was born June 4, 1941 in San Pedro Coralitos, Chihuahua, Mexico to Faustino and Simona Escobedo. She married Mario Portillo on March 20, 1961 in Juarez, Mexico. Ramona was a member of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church where she loved to sing in the choir. She was a very beautiful woman and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She will be missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her husband, Mario Portillo, of the home; two sons, Felipe Portillo and wife Olivia and Ernesto Portillo and wife Angie, all of Pampa; two daughters, Hermelinda Delatorre and husband Gerardo and Patricia Cabrales and husband Tello, all of Pampa; 17 grandchildren, and 20 great grandchildren. Ramona was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, Ramona Portillo, two sons, Mario Isidro Portillo and David Angel Portillo, and by a granddaughter, Dora Kelly.
