Marcia Kay Monahan Darby, 76, of Amarillo and formerly of Pampa, died April 23, 2015 in Amarillo. Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 28, 2015, at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in Pampa, with Rev. Mark Lang, rector, officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Marcia was born November 13, 1938 in Pampa and was a 1957 graduate of Pampa High School. She married John Darby on November 23, 1960 in Pampa. Marcia was a longtime resident of Pampa before moving to Taos, New Mexico, and Amarillo where she had resided since 2007. She was the bookkeeper for Fatheree Insurance Agency in Pampa for over 30 years. She was an active member of St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church and the Altar Guild. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren affectionately called her “Mimi.” Survivors include her husband, John Darby of the home; three daughters, Mary Niccum and husband Gary of Pampa, Ashlie Henderson and husband Donnie and Dona Murray and husband Robert, all of Hereford; a brother, Rod Monahan of Fort Worth; eight grandchildren, nine great grandchildren; a dear cousin, Mary Jane Johnson and husband David of Amarillo; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece, Lisa Williamson and husband Jerald of Leonard, and special nephew, Randy Bruton of Garland; and her aunt, Jan Dosier of Enid, Oklahoma. Marcia was preceded in death by a sister, Karen Bruton and by three brothers, Walt, Kent and Carter Monahan. Memorials may be made to St. Matthew’s Episcopal Day School or Altar Guild, 727 W.
