Ruth Clariece Thompson, 79, of Ponca City, Oklahoma, and formerly of Pampa, Texas, died April 28, 2015 in Ponca City. Services will be at 2:00 PM Monday, May 4, 2015, at Central Baptist Church in Pampa, with Rev. Rick Parnell, associate pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mrs. Thompson was born December 13, 1935 in Skiatook, Oklahoma. She had been a resident of Pampa from 1949 until 2014 when she moved to Ponca City. She married Elmo Thompson on May 27, 1951 in Clovis, New Mexico. He preceded her in death on September 24, 2013. Ruth worked at First National Bank in Pampa for 17 years as a bookkeeper, and later at National Bank of Commerce in Pampa for 7 years as a loan teller. She was a member of Central Baptist Church. Ruth loved to do arts and crafts. Survivors include two daughters, LaDonna Bohannan of Pampa, and Alisa Gibson and husband Greg of Ponca City; a son, Richard Elmo Thompson, Jr., and wife Heather of Groom, Texas; a brother, Rodney Miller and wife Olivia of Vail, Colorado; two granddaughters, Ashlee Orand and husband Danny of Pampa, and Holly Gibson of Ponca City; three great grandsons, Tyler, Cooper and Evan.
