Clyde L. Tidwell

Clyde L. Tidwell, 85, of Pampa, died May 9, 2015 in Amarillo. Services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, May 13, 2015, at Briarwood Church, with Rev. Lynn Hancock, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Tidwell was born February 15, 1930 in Pampa, where he lived most of his life. He married Gwen McAdams on October 1, 1949 in Pampa; she preceded him in death on October 5, 2012. Mr. Tidwell worked for Skelly Oil, Getty, and Texaco for 37 years as a field operator. He was an Army veteran; serving with the 35th Infantry Regiment, member of the Pampa VFW #1657, and was a Baptist. He enjoyed watching rodeos, Pampa Harvesters, and the Dallas Cowboys. Clyde was a people person and loved spending time with his kids and grandchildren. Clyde was preceded in death by his parents: Ollie and Grace Tidwell; daughter: Connie Sue Tidwell; grandson: Jeremy Morris; 3 brothers: his twin,Claude Tidwell, Roy Tidwell and Bill E. Tidwell; 3 sisters: Bessie Howard, Sandra Evans, and Mary Tidwell. He is survived by his daughter: Cara Morris and husband Robert of Amarillo; a son: Alan Tidwell and wife Cathy of Gainesville; his brother: Bobby Tidwell and wife Phyllis of Oklahoma City; 2 granddaughters: Cami Ferland and husband Lance of Murphy, and Lindsay Perez and husband Dr. Brandon Perez of Durham, NC; 4 grandsons: Cory Stone of Addison, Chris Morris of Amarillo, Justin Morris and wife Andrea of Amarillo, and Travis Tidwell and wife Pam of Seiling,OK; 13 great-grandchildren: Cooper and Gracie Stone, Trevor and Luke Ferland, Jeremy and Graham Morris, Davis and Emma Kate and Grace Perez, Lauren Redden and husband Tyler, Paige, Tori, and Alyssa Tidwell; and nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and several cousins. Memorials can be made to Ussery Roan, 1020 Tascosa Rd., Amarillo, Texas 79124 or Justin Cowboy Crisis Fund, C/O Cindy Schonholtz, 101 Pro Rodeo Drive, Colorado Springs, CO 80919. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday at 6:00-7:30 PM
