Frances Ann Dorsey

Frances Ann Dorsey, 80, died May 21, 2015 in Pampa. Services will be at 1:00 PM Saturday, May 30, 2015, at St. Mark's CME Church with Elder Milton Proctor, of Lubbock, and Rev. Darren Willis, of Midland, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Dorsey was born November 20, 1934 in McKinney, and was a 1953 graduate of E. S. Doty High School in McKinney. She came to Pampa in 1953 from McKinney. Frances graduated from Amarillo College of Nursing as an LVN in 1965, and worked for St. Anthony’s Hospital in Amarillo for two years. In 1967, she began a career with Highland General Hospital in Pampa until its closure. She worked at Pampa Nursing Center for five years and then Coronado Healthcare Center for five years before retiring. Frances married Bobby Joe Dorsey on December 11, 1969 in Pampa. He preceded her in death on January 15, 1999. She was a member of St. Mark’s CME Church. Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Claude Johnson and Eartha Mae Williams; three brothers, Charles Wysong Johnson, Billy Payne and Jimmie Lee Johnson; a sister, Rosa Lee Clemons; and three aunts, Roxie J. Nelson, Alta M. Clark and Billie Phea. Survivors include three daughters, Cynthia Lemons and Roxie Robinson and husband Molison Robinson, Jr., all of Pampa, and Edna Fay Camel of Borger; five sons, Jimmie Johnson, Troy Grimes, Kevin Grimes, Billie Grimes and Bobby Dorsey, all of Pampa; four brothers, Danny Williams and wife Courtney of Lawton, Oklahoma, Claude Earl Johnson and wife Charity and Robert Johnson and wife Lavora, all of Fort Worth, and Andrew Williams of Gainesville; sister-in-law, Hazel Lee Johnson of McKinney; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews; and special friends Pearl Gilmore and Ruby Williams of Amarillo, Sharon Andrew of Houston, and Cheryl McFall. Memorials may be made to St. Mark’s CME Church, 405 Elm, Pampa, Texas 79065. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 PM Friday, May 29, 2015, at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Home.
