Dorothy Minyard, 81, of Amarillo, formerly of Pampa, died Sunday, June 14, 2015, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, June 19, 2015, in Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa with Rev. Norman Rushing, pastor of Central Baptist Church in Pampa, officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery in Pampa. Arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mrs. Minyard was born June 4, 1934 in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She married Billy Ray Minyard on June 18, 1955 in Cedar Rapids. He preceded her in death on April 12, 1981. She was a resident of Pampa from 1963 until 2009, when she moved to Amarillo. Dorothy was a member of Central Baptist Church. She was a homemaker, and she loved to travel and spend time with family and friends, especially during the holidays. Dorothy was preceded in death by her daughter, Beverly Woodruff, in 2010, and a brother, Frank Bedell, in 2015. Survivors include three sons, Russell Minyard, Bill Minyard and wife Pam, and Steve Minyard, all of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Megan Woodruff, Mallory Minyard, and Mitchell Minyard, all of Amarillo; and a sister-in-law, Dolores Bedell of Sun City West, Arizona.
