Bettye J. Gallagher

Bettye J. Gallagher, 81, passed away, Friday June 19, 2015, in Pampa. There will be no services scheduled. Cremation and arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Gallagher was born May 2, 1934 in Grand Prairie. She married Herman Gallagher on July 18, 1953 in Roswell, New Mexico and had been a resident of Pampa since 1959. She was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, formerly Barrett Baptist Church. Bettye was a loving wife and mother. She was the first licensed daycare provider in Pampa and provided in-home child care for many children in Pampa. Bettye was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, five sisters and a great grandson. Survivors include her husband, Herman of the home; four sons, Don Gallagher, Ron Gallagher, Russell Gallagher and partner Twyla Hughes, all of Pampam, and Larry Gallagher and wife Gay of Liberal, Kansas; two daughters, Teresa Gallagher of Amarillo and Robyn Carter and husband Chuck of Phoenix, Arizona; two sisters, Jean Walker of West Virginia and June Meers of Oklahoma City; 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
