Wanda Hill Tigrett, 80, of Amarillo and formerly of Pampa, died July 21, 2015 in Amarillo. Services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, July 25, 2015, at Briarwood Church in Pampa, with Rev. Ronnie Woodward, pastor of Family Worship Center of Amarillo, and Rev. Lynn Hancock, pastor of Briarwood Church of Pampa, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery in Pampa, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mrs. Tigrett was born November 24, 1934 in Gray County, and was a 1953 graduate of Pampa High School. She married Robert L. "Bob" Tigrett on September 1, 1961 in Pampa. She began working for Fannon Butane in January of 1957, continuing with the company when it was sold to C. L. Roberts, becoming Roberts Butane. In 1971, Wanda and her husband Bob purchased the business changing the name to Tigrett Butane & Supply. They expanded the business to Amarillo in 1981 and moved that same year, making their home in Amarillo. She sold the business in December of 1996 following the death of her husband. After moving to Amarillo, Wanda became an accomplished artist, taking classes weekly. Many of her cherished paintings hang in the homes of friends and loved ones. Some of her very best friends were a part of her art class, bunco group and canasta group. Growing up, Wanda attended First Assembly of God Church in Pampa. In 1965 Wanda and Bob became charter members of Lamar Full Gospel which later became Briarwood Full Gospel Church in Pampa. After moving to Amarillo, she attended Canyon First Assembly of God and Amarillo First Assembly of God for a number of years. In the final years of her life she attended Family Worship Center in Amarillo with her grandchildren. For the last two years, due to failing health, Wanda had resided at Harrington Assisted Living in Amarillo. The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the nurses and caregivers at Harrington for their love, support and the amazing care she received while there. Wanda was preceded in death by her husband Robert L. "Bob" Tigrett; her parents, R. P. and Maggie Hill; and one infant son. She is survived by her daughter, Renel Hadley and husband Ronnie of Pampa; her granddaughter, Tish Hadley, and her grandson, Hunter Hill Hadley, both of Amarillo; her aunt, Evelyn Hext, and her uncle, J. L. "Pee Wee" Romines and wife Vivian, all of Pampa; a sister-in-law, Joyce Barton of Pampa; a brother-in-law, Butch Tigrett and wife Jo Dell of Amarillo; and a brother-in-law, Billy Wayne Tigrett and wife Sherron of Perryton; a very dear friend, Mary Sue Hogue of Pagosa Springs, Colorado; and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.
