Jackie Wayne "Jack" Gindorf

Jackie Wayne “Jack” Gindorf, of Katy, formerly of Pampa, passed away on Monday, July 20, 2015, at the age of 63 years. He was born on September 15, 1951, in Kingsville, Texas, to Henry John Gindorf and Glendora Meier Gindorf. Jack moved to Pampa, Texas, at a young age, and on July 15, 1973, he married Cynthia Louise “Cindy” Presnell in Pampa. In 1974, Jack graduated from Texas Tech University. While in Pampa, he was a member of the Pampa Noon Lions Club, and was an Elder at the First Christian Church of Pampa. Jack was also the Interim Minister at the First Christian Church in Miami, Texas. He moved to Austin in 2002, and later to Katy in 2007. Jack coached youth sports and was the “voice” of Harvester Sports for many years. He was an avid golfer, and enjoyed teaching Bible study, attending United Methodist Men’s Group, and watching his grandkids play sports. Jack had a passion for mentoring young adults and leading them into a relationship with Jesus. His favorite saying was ‘give ‘em Jesus”. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Cindy Gindorf; son, Hank and his wife Kristy Gindorf; daughters, Melissa and her husband Chris Harrison, and Rebecca and her husband Matthew Chesser; grandchildren, Aidan, Cooper and Gabi Gindorf, Carson and Blake Montgomery, Taylor and Mason Harrison, and Avery and Luke Chesser; brothers, Tom and his wife Beth Gindorf, and Bob and his wife Judy Gindorf; as well as numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and other loving family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Glendora Gindorf. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, July 23, 2015, at the Schmidt Funeral Home Chapel, in Katy. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, July 24, 2015, at First United Methodist Church, in Katy, with Dr. Richard L. White officiating.
