Jim Logan, Sr.

November 12, 1942 — August 21, 2015

Jim Logan, Sr., 72, of Pampa, passed away August 21, 2015 in Pampa. Services will be 2:00 PM Monday, August 24, 2015, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Pastor Paul Nachtigall of Highland Baptist Church, officiating. Entombment will follow in Memory Gardens Mausoleum under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Logan was born November 12, 1942 in Kansas City, Missouri. He graduated from Southeast High School in Kansas City in 1960. He married Kathy Ballantyne on May 13, 1961 in Kansas City. Jim had been a resident of Pampa since 1982, moving from Kansas City. He worked for Phillips Petroleum in Kansas City and Borger for 35 years, retiring in 2008. He was a member of the American Baptist Church in Kansas City. Jim was a member and past president of IUOE Local #148 in Borger. He was a certified HAM radio operator. He was an avid billiards player and bowler. Jim was a former scoutmaster of Troop 337 in Kansas City and was a diehard Kansas City Chiefs fan. Jim was preceded in death by his father John; a brother John; his stepfather, Tony Weber; and a great-grandson, Liam Ridenour. Survivors include his wife, Kathy Logan of the home; 3 sons, Jim Logan Jr., and wife Jo and Greg Logan and wife Renita, all of Pampa, and David Logan and wife Robin of Kansas City, Missouri; his mother, Maybelle Logan of Las Vegas, Nevada; his sister, Joyce Stivers and husband Steve of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a sister-in-law, Chris Logan of Evergreen, Colorado; eight grandchildren, Heather, Kelsey, Abbie, William, Tiffany, Samantha, Dylan and Robin; and two great-granddaughters. Memorials may be made to Accolade Hospice, 1313 N. Hobart, Pampa, Texas 79065.
