Larry Ray Starnes, 73, of Pampa, died Sunday, August 30, 2015, in Pampa. Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, Sept. 3, 2015, at the First Baptist Church with Rev. Byron Williamson, pastor, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Starnes was born May 16, 1942 in Tulia to Raymond and Bonnie Starnes. He was a 1960 graduate of Tulia High School and served in the Texas National Guard following high school. Larry married Linda Jean Edwards on Dec. 14, 1962 in Plainview. He and Linda Jean came to Pampa in 1977 from Morton. Larry worked for White House Lumber Co. for several years and was a self-employed building contractor for many years. He also was an insurance agent for Modern Woodmen of the World for five years and worked as a facility manager for National Oilwell Varco for six years before his retirement. Larry was a very active member of First Baptist Church and was chairman of the Audio-Visual Committee. He was a former member of the Pampa Chamber of Commerce and a former member of the Pampa Noon Lions Club. Larry loved hunting and fishing. Survivors include his wife, Linda Jean Starnes, of the home; a daughter, Cheryl Malone and husband Johnny of Pampa; a son, Chris Starnes and wife Tari of Canadian; a brother, Gary Starnes and wife Donna of Pampa; seven grandchildren, Chadd Malone and wife Stephanie, Koby Starnes, and Seth Starnes, all of Pampa, Reid Malone of Lubbock, Brandon Breyde and wife Laci of Canadian, Brittany Hoffman Dunn and husband Zack of Chickasha, Oklahoma, and Timothy Ott of Chandler, Arizona; two great grandchildren, Zoey Breyde of Canadian and Collin Hoffman Dunn of Chickasha, Oklahoma; and two nieces and three nephews. Larry was preceded in death by his parents and by a grandson, Ryne Malone, in 2010. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Audio-Visual Committee, P. O.
