Jerrie Nell Cady, 80, of Lefors, died September 2, 2015 in Amarillo. Services will be at 2:00 PM Thursday, September 10, 2015, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Gene Gee, minister of Lefors Church of Christ, officiating. Entombment will follow at Memory Gardens Mausoleum under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Mrs. Cady was born December 7, 1934 in Stephenville to Clyde and Lucille Cox. As a young girl her family moved to the Gray County area, living both in Lefors and Pampa, and attending schools in both towns. She married the love of her life, Gary Cady on September 19, 1953 in Pampa. He preceded her in death on December 25, 2012. Jerrie worked in the healthcare industry as a nurse’s aide for many years, working for Highland General and Coronado Community hospitals. She was a dedicated care provider who was loved by her patients. She was a former member of Lefors Church of Christ. She was such a compassionate woman who took care of all animals and people in need. Jerrie will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; two grandchildren, Curtis Allen Stevens and Jennifer Lea Culver; and a sister, Ann Montene Curtis. Survivors include two sons, Carl Cady of Amarillo and Randy Cady of Lefors; three daughters, Marie Carter of Lefors, Gay Ellis and husband Curtis of Ft. Gibson, Oklahoma, and Melodie Stevens of Melbourne, Pennsylvania; a brother, Billy Cox and wife Beulah of Pampa; 10 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
