James D. "Jim" Terry

James D. “Jim” Terry, 84, died September 4, 2015 in Pampa. Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 12, 2015 at First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Ruby Moultrie, pastor, and Rev. Jimmye Cole, pastor of First Church of the Nazarene, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Jim was born January 21, 1931 in Wellington to Jim and Clara Terry. He was a 1948 graduate of Wellington High School. He married Pat Lewis on November 25, 1948 in Wellington. Jim lived in Pampa from 1952 until 1974, and then lived in Wichita Falls, Arlington and Midland before returning to Pampa in 1995. He worked as a machinist and certified industrial engineer at Cabot Machinery Division for 22 years. Jim also worked in oilfield equipment manufacturing in other cities, and retired in 1993 as manager of product manufacturing for Frito-Lay Corp. in Irving. He was a member of First United Methodist Church and the Winsome Sunday school class. Jim was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Nelda Orr, and his stepfather, Osa Black. Survivors include his wife, Pat Terry of the home; two sons, Randy Terry and wife Emma of Midland, and Kevin Terry and wife Lorri of Weatherford; a daughter, Brenda Terry Tedder and husband Richard of Arlington; a brother, Charles Terry and wife Linda of Iowa Park; stepbrother, Delvin Black and wife Verna of Denton; two stepsisters, Rugene Fagan and Donna Stambaugh, both of Fort Worth; two granddaughters, Alecia Edwards and husband Jeff of Keller, and Melissa Blacknall and husband Tony of Arlington; two grandsons, Nickolas Terry of Gunnison, Colorado, and Jacob Terry of Weatherford; three great grandchildren, Blain Taylor, Cole Gower and Hayley Edwards; and a great great grandchild, Jackson Gower.
