Joy Bivins

Joy Bivins, 78, of Pampa, died September 9, 2015 in Amarillo. Services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, September 12, 2015, at First Christian Church, with Dr. Jeff Knighton, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Bivins was born February 18, 1937 in Myra. She had been a resident of Pampa since 1957. She married Lynn Bivins on May 10, 1958 in Borger. He preceded her in death on March 21, 2004. Joy worked for Highland General and Coronado Community hospitals as a lab tech for 42 years. She was a member of First Christian Church and executive director of Good Samaritan Christian Services. Survivors include two daughters, Teresa Davis and husband Doug, and Chanda Smith and husband Steve Schaub, all of Pampa; a son, Reeves Bivins of Pampa; six grandchildren, Riordan Hill, Jerrod Bivins and wife Haili, Kristin Bivins, Nathan Smith, Jeramie Bivins, and Cameron Schaub; and three great grandchildren, RayLynn Hill, Chacelyn Hill and Brenli Bivins.
