Sue Green

February 19, 1945 — September 20, 2015

Sue Green, 70, of Pampa, passed away September 20, 2015 in Pampa. Memorial services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, September 24, 2015 at the Lake Tanglewood Community Church with Rev. Roger Hubbard officiating and Pastor Jim Jamieson and Rev. Ed Modrick assisting. Cremation and arrangements are by Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Sue was born February 19, 1945 in Amarillo to Gerald Lester and Margie Wallis Lester. Sue attended elementary school in Mobeetie, junior high in Borger and high school in Dumas. She met the love of her life, Bill Green at the swimming pool in Wheeler in 1959 and later they were married on September 24, 1965 in Wheeler. Bill’s employment took them to several cities in Texas and Oklahoma. They would eventually reside in the Lake Tanglewood community for 25 years. In 2014, they moved to Pampa to be closer to their family. Sue was a former longtime member of the Lake Tanglewood Community Church and Lake Tanglewood Arts and Crafts Club. She loved arts and crafts, decorating the church, bible study, and volunteering for various community events. Sue was known to be a very giving and compassionate person who always put others before herself. Sue’s greatest joy was being around her family, especially her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Sue was preceded in death by her father, Gerald Lester; her mother, Margie Banks; and her step-father, James Banks. Survivors include her husband, Bill Green of the home; two daughters, Christi Griffin and husband Bob of Pampa, and Terri Baldonado and husband Sandy of Garfield, Arkansas; two granddaughters, Lauren Winkelman of Amarillo and Logan Fernuik and husband Michael of Lubbock; three grandsons, Justin Drake of El Reno, Oklahoma, Joe Baldonado and Levi Baldonado both of Garfield, Arkansas; two brothers, Wallis Lester and wife Brenda of Benbrook and Jeff Banks and wife Regina of Gunter; and a sister, Teresa Banks of Sherman. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to: Lake Tanglewood Community Church 106 Tanglewood Drive # B, Amarillo, Texas 79118 and to Kid’s Inc. 2201 E. 27th Avenue, Amarillo, Texas 79103.
