Berdena "Bert" Godwin Neef

Berdena “Bert” Godwin Neef, 86, of Pampa, died September 26, 2015 in Amarillo. Services will be at 11:00 AM Thursday, October 1, 2015 at Central Baptist Church, with Rev. Norman Rushing, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Neef was born August 23, 1929 in Mobeetie. She married Rusty Neef on April 9, 1952 in Westcliffe, Colorado. She had been a resident of Pampa since 1953. Bert was a teacher for Pampa Independent School District for 33 years, retiring in 2005, and taught at St. Matthew’s Episcopal Day School for three years, retiring in 2009. She was a member of Central Baptist Church and the Twentieth Century Cotillion. She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Cordia Godwin. Survivors include her husband, Rusty Neef of the home; a daughter: Misty Renegar of Amarillo; a son Dusty Neef and wife Bonnie of Humble; three grandchildren, Brinton Renegar of Amarillo, Tiffani Neef-Crook and Dustin Neef, both of Austin; three great grandchildren; and a sister, Marlene Dross of Hagerman, New Mexico.
