Betty Jean Goddard, 88 of Pampa, died Friday, September 25, 2015, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, October 2, 2015, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Bro. Paul Nachtigall, pastor of Highland Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Sullivan Funeral Home of Vernon, and Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Betty was born July 22, 1927 in Tulsa, Oklahoma to Harry W. Purcell and Iva Parent Purcell. She married Jack Cavely Goddard on June 13, 1945 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. He preceded her in death on August 8, 2000. She had been a resident of Pampa since 1968. Betty was formerly the co-owner of Cavely Pest Control. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Pampa. Betty was preceded in death by a daughter, Johnnie Lee Goddard, and four brothers and sisters. Survivors include two daughters, Sharon and Dean of Pampa, and Deborah Stamp and husband Dennis of Amarillo; a grandson, John Goddard of Pampa; a granddaughter, Heather Stamp of Amarillo, and a great granddaughter, Jaclyn Stamp of Amarillo. The family will receive friends from 7:00-8:00 PM Thursday, October 1, 2015, at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Home.
