Karla Jean Martin

June 19, 1957 — September 24, 2015

Karla Jean Martin, age 58, passed from this Earth, on September 24, 2015, at Memorial Hermann Hospital, the Woodlands, Texas, when her frail body could no longer fight her illness. She was born June 19, 1957, at Highland General Hospital in Pampa, Texas, Gray County, a seemingly normal child but by the age of four showing signs of her impairment. Her parents and family took her to their hearts until the passing of her father James Martin on July 29, 2009, and her mother Sarah Rosetta Marshall Martin on December 4, 2012. Karla was not able to do anything for herself. But she took enjoyment in certain things. She loved to eat…her father said she was just like her mother in that respect. She would greet each day with a smile on her face, like her father who was always cheerful. She did not like to be alone and would hold your hand for moments of time. Her mother and father took such great care of her. She will be once more in the loving arms of the two people who never turned their back on the gift God gave them and their responsibility, born of His love and grace, to their child who was the light of their life. She is survived by her sister and caretaker Pamela Martin Hamshari and brother-in-law Nabeel Hamshari of Conroe, Texas, and their children Ali and Sarah, and by her aunts Birnell Sipple of Electra, Texas, Eileen Wilborn of Austin, Texas, and Dorothy Martin of Midland, Texas, and by many cousins in Borger, Pampa, Electra, Wichita Falls, Ft. Worth, Whitehouse, Troupe, Austin, Midland, and San Angelo in Texas; and in Arkansas. She is the angel God left in our keeping, and she blessed our lives. She is at rest at the Stinnett Texas Cemetery, Hutchinson County, next to her beloved father and mother and her beloved grandparents Felix Boyd Marshall and Birdie ChristineMarshall. The Lord giveth and the Lord taketh away. Rest in peace our little angel. ~ “You took care of me when I could not talk. And then you took care of me when I could not walk. A better mother and father I could not have had; for if God in Heaven sent me for you to care for, He also sent you to me.”
