John Edward “Ed” Henley, 89, died October 13, 2015 in Pampa. Services will be at 10:00 AM Saturday, October 17, 2015 at Central Baptist Church, with Rev. Norman Rushing, pastor, and Rev. John Mann, pastor of LaJunta Baptist Church of Springtown, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Henley was born September 5, 1926 in McLean, and was a lifelong resident of Pampa. He married Rosalie Hardy on April 6, 1947 in Wheeler. She preceded him in death on October 14, 1995. He later married Millie Clay on November 21, 1998 in Pampa. Ed owned and operated Dixie Parts & Supply and Henley Auto Parts and Supply, retiring in 1991. He was a member of Central Baptist Church and the Pampa Optimist Club where he coached Little League. Ed was a veteran of the U. S. Army, serving during the end of World War II in the Philippians. Ed was preceded in death by a son, William Richard “Dic” Henley in 2000; and two grandsons, Larry Dale Estes in 1975 and Matthew Todd Searle in 1994. Survivors include his wife, Millie Henley of the home; four daughters, Linda Estes and husband Harold of Pampa, Mary Chiveres and husband Pink, Johnnie Searle and husband Todd, and Phyllis Brooking, all of Vernal, Utah; a brother, Warren Henley and wife Liz of Cleveland, Texas; 19 grandchildren, 33 great grandchildren and 23 great great grandchildren.
