Linda J. Starnes

Linda J. Starnes, 72, of Pampa, died October 18, 2015 in Amarillo. Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, October 23, 2015, at First Baptist Church, with Rev. Byron Williamson, pastor, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Starnes was born March 29, 1943 in Plainview to Garland and Murlene Edwards, and was a 1961 graduate of Plainview High School. She married Larry Starnes on December 14, 1962 in Plainview. He preceded her in death on August 30, 2015. Linda had been a resident of Pampa since 1977, moving from Morton. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church where she was chairman of the Christmas decorating committee for many years. Linda loved arranging flowers and worked for several florists. She was also preceded in death by her parents; and a grandson, Ryne Malone in 2010. Survivors include her daughter, Cheryl Malone and husband Johnny of Pampa; her son, Chris Starnes and wife Tari of Canadian; her sister, Shirley Leach and husband Ottis of Canyon; her brother, Jerry Edwards and Cathy Allen of Lubbock; seven grandchildren, Chadd Malone and wife Stephanie, Koby Starnes, and Seth Starnes, all of Pampa; Reid Malone of Lubbock; Brandon Breyde and wife Laci of Canadian; Brittany Hoffman Dunn and husband Zack of Chickasha, Oklahoma; and Timothy Ott of Chandler, Arizona; two great grandchildren, Zoey Breyde of Canadian and Collin Hoffman Dunn of Chickasha, Oklahoma; two nieces and three nephews.
