Lois Elaine Howsmon, 58, of Skellytown, died October 21, 2015 in Amarillo. Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, October 24, 2015, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Carter Pirtle, pastor of First Baptist Church of Skellytown, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Howsmon was born January 22, 1957 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She was a 1974 graduate of Dumas High School and received her RN degree from Clovis Community College in Clovis, New Mexico. She had been a resident of Skellytown since 2006. Lois enjoyed the mountains, wildflowers, being outdoors, and loved spending time with her family. Survivors include a daughter, Kara Warren and husband Adam of Clovis, New Mexico; two sons, Trapper Green and wife Mary of Dumas, and John Howsmon of Skellytown; a sister, Christy Norris and husband James of Raton, New Mexico; a brother, Button Criswell and wife Rhonda of Stinnett; and six grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents: Elvin and Rose Criswell; and two sisters, Zan Criswell and Beverly Williams. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
