Bethel Dean Walker, 80, of Pampa, died November 9, 2015 in Houston. Services will be at 10:00 AM Friday, November 13, 2015 at First Baptist Church, with Rev. Byron Williamson, pastor, and Rev. Barry Owens, associate pastor, officiating. Entombment will follow in Memory Gardens Mausoleum under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Walker was born February 22, 1935 in Big Spring, Texas to Clarence and Ethel Matthews. She had been a resident of Pampa for more than 42 years. She married J. B. Walker on March 5, 1977 in Pampa. Bethel was an active member of First Baptist Church and was involved in the prison ministries. She was a school teacher with Pampa Independent School District, retiring in 1987. She loved gardening and was a prayer warrior for her family and others. Bethel was also preceded in death by a sister, Barbara Smith; and a great grandchild, Aiden Ammerman. Survivors include her husband, J. B. Walker of the home; three daughters, Sheryl Gray and Kevin Rumrill, both of Pampa, and Lisa Nelson and husband Tim of Grand Junction, Colorado; three sons, Dirk Ammerman and wife Lori and Michael Walker, all of Pampa, and Matt Ammerman and wife Elyse of Borger; 14 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
