Grace Elizabeth Gotcher Gething

June 18, 1929 — December 2, 2015

Grace Elizabeth Gotcher Gething, 86, of Pampa, died December 2, 2015 in Pampa. Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Saturday, December 5, 2015, at the First Presbyterian Church with Nancy Ruff, commissioned lay pastor, and John Curry, officiating. A private inurnment will be held at a later date at the Gething Ranch Cemetery. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Gething was born June 18, 1929 in Panhandle. She had been a resident of Pampa since 1947. She married William Edward “Bill” Gething on August 20, 1949 in Pampa. Grace was a member and former elder at First Presbyterian Church and taught Vacation Bible School for several years. She was an avid bridge player. Survivors include her husband, Bill Gething of the home; two sons, Mark Edward Gething and wife Marna and William Grant Gething and wife Joyce, all of Pampa; three grandsons, David Gething of Westminster, Maryland, Robert Gething of Amarillo, and Jacob Gething of Pampa; and a great granddaughter, Charlotte Gething of Amarillo; sister-in-law, Mary Gething Jones of Pampa; a niece, Anne Lusk and husband Glynn of Pampa; a nephew, John Tripplehorn and wife Susan of Pampa. Grace was preceded in death by her parents, Emmett and Josephine Strunk Gotcher; a sister, Anna Mae Gotcher Tripplehorn; and a brother, James “Babe” Gotcher.
