Thomas L. “Tom” Lamar, 79, of Pampa, died December 17, 2015 in Pampa, Memorial services will be at 4:00 PM Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at Fellowship Baptist Church, with Rev. Joel Osborne, pastor, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Lamar was born November 6, 1936 in Las Cruces, New Mexico, and was a lifelong resident of Pampa. He married Donna Jones on October 14, 1956 in Pampa. They had two children, Debbie and Mark. Tom was a pipeline side boom operator working in Alaska, all of the contiguous United States, and Saudi Arabia for 65 years. Tom was a member of The Faith Church. He was a life member of the Pampa Masonic Lodge #966 where he was a 32nd degree mason. He was also a member of the Pipeliners Union # 798 and the Golden Gloves Boxing Club. Survivors include a daughter, Debbie Douglas and husband Raymond of Pampa; a son, Mark Lamar of Pampa; seven grandchildren, Melanie Dunn and husband Chris of Sherman, Kaysi Folsom and husband Gill, Cody Douglas and wife Jennifer, Jennifer Kent and husband Adam, and Karli Medley and husband Jeremy, all of Pampa, Mark Lamar, II and wife Robin of Panhandle, and Dustin Smith of Amarillo; and fourteen great grandchildren. Thomas was preceded in death by his parents, A. C. and Beatrice Stone Lamar; an infant sister; a brother, Jerry Lamar; a granddaughter, Heaven Dunn.
