Ruby Jennings

April 11, 1926 — December 25, 2015

Ruby Jennings, 89, of Pampa, went to be with her Lord on December 25, 2015 in Pampa. Services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 30, 2015, at Cornerstone Baptist Church with Rev Norman Rushing, pastor of Central Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Jennings was born April 11, 1926 in Bonham. She married Harry Ray Jennings on May 18, 1946 in Bonham. She had been a resident of Pampa since 1955. Ruby was the first woman hired for the Pampa Police Department as a meter maid, and she worked for many years with Pampa Independent School District before retiring. She was a very active member of Cornerstone Baptist Church. She loved her church family and her Lord Jesus Christ. Ruby loved to cook and spend time playing games with her grandchildren. Her life was an example of her faith. Survivors include her husband Harry Ray Jennings of the home; a daughter, Renee Stout and husband Chris of Pampa; a son, Travis Jennings and wife Diane of Pampa; two grandsons, Bryan Stout and wife Selena and Craig Stout and wife Jessica, all of Pampa; five great grandchildren, Cayden Stout, Creed Stout, Coleson Stout, Lyric Stout and Linley Stout, all of Pampa; a sister, Johnnie Slaymaker and husband Marvin of Pampa; a brother-in-law, Grady Giddiens of Bailey; and a host of nieces and nephews; special adopted family members, Dave Stidham and Kaydan Stidham of Pampa.
