Barbara JoAnn Kirkham, 73, of Pampa, died December 25, 2015 in Pampa. Services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rev. James G. Greer, director of missions for the Top O’ Texas Baptist Association, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Kirkham was born January 30, 1942 in Sallisaw, Oklahoma. She married William Earnest “Bill” Kirkham on June 19, 1959 in Pampa. He preceded her in death on November 14, 2009. She served as the administrator for the Community Day Care Center for 28 years, retiring in 2008. Barbara was a member of First Baptist Church. She was one of the first volunteers for Tralee Crisis Center in Pampa and she sat on a state committee for setting policies for inclusion for children with disabilities. She was instrumental in starting the Latch Key Program in Pampa. Survivors include four sons, William Kirkham, Jr. of Fritch, Kevin Kirkham of Dallas, Kurtis Kirkham and wife Shanon of Lubbock, and Kevin Kirkham, Jr. and wife Angie of Pampa; two daughters, Kim Winegeart and husband Johnny of Pampa and Kay Kirkham of Amarillo; eight grandchildren, Mandi Lunceford of Krebs, Oklahoma, Alicia Lance and Jason Pichette of Pampa, Lori Kirkham of Temple, Jared Winegeart and wife Robyn of Amarillo, Matthew Kirkham, Andrea Riley Kirkham, Katy Relelem Kirkham and Kendee Kirkham, all of Lubbock; nine great grandchildren, Luke Lunceford, Whitley Lance, Anna Kirkham, Ethan Kirkham and Devyn Lunceford all of Pampa, Tristan Winegeart, Nicholas Winegeart and Trinidy Dallas, all of Amarillo, and Bella Grace Orr of Krebs, Oklahoma; and a brother, Don Whitney and wife Paula of Pampa. Barbara was preceded in death by a daughter, Clara Anna Kirkham in 1964; and a brother, Aaron Whitney. Memorials may be made to the Community Day Care Center, PO Box 2432, Pampa, Texas 79066-2432.
