Tommy Ray Watson, 62, of Pampa, died December 25, 2015 in Pampa. Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Friday, January 15, 2016, at the Carpenter’s Church, with Pastor Jim Sinyard, officiating. Military honors are courtesy of the U. S. Navy. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Watson was born December 1, 1953 in Friona. He received the first “All Around Cowboy” award from Pampa High School, where he graduated in 1972. He enlisted in the U. S. Navy in 1973, serving during the Vietnam War, and receiving an honorable discharge in 1979. Tommy was a welder with the Amarillo Pipefitters Union, working from 1979 until his retirement in 2005. He was a member of the Carpenter’s Church. He was a lifelong cowboy, and enjoyed watching Shelby Watson, his granddaughter, ride in rodeos. Survivors include a daughter, Jessica Watson and husband Chris Bridwell of Pampa; a son, Cullon Watson of Corpus Christi; his mother, Roberta Klapper and husband Billy of Pampa; three sisters, Kathy Taylor and husband Charlie of Amarillo, Glenda Briscoe of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Regina Dye of White Deer; a brother, Doug Watson and wife Tina of Lefors; three stepsisters, Elizabeth Wilson of Palestine, Debbie Yeates of Victoria, and Angie Watson; and five grandchildren.
