Virginia “Billie” Gray, 85, of Pampa, died January 19, 2016 in Pampa. Services will be at 11:00 AM Friday, January 22, 2016 at Memory Gardens Mausoleum with Rev. Jim Yates, Interim Hospice chaplain, officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Gray was born January 5, 1931 in Tucumcari, New Mexico. As an infant, her family moved to Gray County where she was reared, and graduated from Lefors High School. Billie married Marvin Gray on December 31, 1948 in Pampa. He preceded her in death on March 26, 2006. She and Marvin owned and operated Zebbie’s BBQ for several years. She was a former member of Hobart Baptist Church. Billie and Marvin were avid league bowlers for many years, making many friends, but they enjoyed fishing and camping the most. They were residents of Corsicana for approximately thirty years before returning to the Pampa area. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her son, Everett Gray of Pampa; three sisters, Jo Ray and husband James of Pampa, Barbara Harper and husband Mark of Duncan, Oklahoma, and Linda Caddell and husband Tim of Sugar Land and; six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Billie was preceded in death by her parents, William and Annie McFarlin Tillman; a sister, Anita Rowe; a son, Ron Gray; and a granddaughter, Stacey Gray. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, c/o Gerry Caylor, 2130 Charles, Pampa, Texas 79065. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 Thursday, January 21, 2016, at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
