Carol Eggleston, 72, of Pampa, died January 25, 2016 in Pampa. Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, January 30, 2016, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Laura Nell Hays, chaplain with Comforting Hands Hospice of Elk City, Oklahoma , officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Eggleston was born April 12, 1943 in Wilson, Oklahoma to Vergil and Oma Dee Lewallen. As a young girl, her family moved to Elk City, Oklahoma where she was reared and attended schools. She met the love of her life, George Eggleston, and they married on October 13, 1958 in Wheeler. Carol, who was also known as Nan, had been a resident of Pampa since 1961. She was the owner and operator of G&C Toy Store for several years, and worked as a beautician for many years. She was a member of Hobart Baptist Church. Carol liked to bowl and enjoyed crocheting, but she loved spending time with her family. Nan’s greatest passion was her grandkids and family, to which she passed on her strong family values. She also cherished her close relationship with her mother. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Survivors include her husband, George Eggleston of the home; three children, Debbie Dixon and husband Robert, Sherri Fortenberry and husband Rodney and Glen Eggleston, all of Pampa; her mother, Oma Dee Lewallen of Elk City, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren, Lindsey Wall and husband Dustin, Robbie Dixon and wife Amber, and Jareth Fortenberry, all of Amarillo, Gavin Eggleston and wife Julie of Columbus, Georgia, Colden Fortenberry, Jessie Dixon and Bailey Dixon, all of Pampa, and Garrett Eggleston and wife Lindsey of Canyon; three great grandchildren, Aubree Wall and Berklee Wall, both of Amarillo, and Gunner Eggleston of Columbus, Georgia; and five brothers, Charles Lewallen and wife Jeannie, and Gene Lewallen and wife Liz, all of Long Dale, Oklahoma, Johnnie Lewallen and wife Lana of Elk City, Oklahoma, Terry Lewallen and wife Gayle of Wheeler, and Randy Lewallen and wife Trisha of Foss Lake, Oklahoma. Carol held many of her nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends dear to her heart. She was preceded in death by her father, Vergil Lewallen; two sisters, Jo Ann Berry and Yvonne Wilson; and by her grandparents. The family will receive friends from 6:00-7:30 PM Friday, January 29, 2016, at Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
