David R. Robertson, 68, of Pampa, died February 4, 2016 in Amarillo. Services will be 2:00 PM Saturday, February 6, 2016, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Rick Parnell, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Robertson was born March 20, 1947 in Pampa. He married Debbie Earp on December 29, 1964, and she preceded him in death on December 10, 2007. David was a 1965 graduate of Pampa High School, and later graduated from West Texas State University. He eventually returned to WTSU, earning his Masters of Music degree and Masters of Administration degree. He began his teaching career at Pampa Junior High as assistant band director before spending six years as high school band director at Dalhart High School. He spent several years in sales before he began Robertson Benefits and Insurance Agency. David enjoyed hunting, fishing and raising cattle. Survivors include his daughter, Shelley Robertson Brantley and husband Dr. Ken Brantley of Amarillo; his son, Rodney Robertson and wife Tonya of Pampa; two sisters, Dr. Joan Cross of Plano, and Tammey Shimon and husband Tom of Wichita, Kansas; and two grandchildren, Wesley Brantley of Amarillo, and Emily Robertson of Pampa. David was also preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Lois Robertson; and a sister, Jackie Anno. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
