V. Evie Burton

V. Evie Burton, 90, of Pampa, died February 21, 2016 in Pampa. Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM Friday, February 26, 2016, at Fairview Cemetery, with Dr. Jeff Knighton, pastor of First Christian Church of Pampa, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. As per Evie’s request, her body will not be available for viewing. Mrs. Burton was born September 18, 1925 in Hayden, Arizona. She married William “Bill” Burton on November 22, 1944 in San Diego, California. He preceded her in death on December 29, 2011. She had been a resident of Pampa until 1955 when she moved to San Diego. She was a resident of San Diego until 2003 when she returned to Pampa. Evie was a homemaker and a member of First Christian Church in Pampa. Survivors include a son, Bill Burton of Alpine, California; a daughter, Beverly Ryan of Point Loma, California, six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. Virginia was preceded in death by a brother, Thomas James Olson in 2008.
