Troy Lynn Dunn, 74, of Pampa died February 27, 2016 in Amarillo. Services will be at 2:00 PM Wednesday March 2, 2016, at Cornerstone Baptist Church, with Larry Taylor officiating. Burial will be in Memory Gardens Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Dunn was born January 10, 1942 in Memphis, Texas to parents Elvoy and Katherine Dunn. Mr. Dunn has been a resident of Pampa for over 30 years. He graduated from Palo Duro High School in 1960. He married Madaline Rosson on July 20, 1960 in Amarillo. He retired from Merchants Fast Motor Lines in 1993 after 31 years of service as a terminal manager. After retiring, Troy and Madaline served as house parents at Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch for 10 years, retiring in 2007. He was currently working for J.E. Carlson/Lineage Construction. Mr. Dunn was a member of Cornerstone Baptist Church, Optimist Club, and Ambuc’s. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and special dog Tinker Bell. Survivors include his wife, Madaline Dunn of Pampa; two sons, Dwayne Dunn and wife Diane of Bay City and Deral Dunn and wife Becca of Pampa; one granddaughter, Audrey Stallings and husband Levi of Abilene; 3 great-granddaughters, Sophia, Chloe, and Claire Stallings of Abilene; 2 brothers-in-law, Sid Shaw and wife Una of Cushing Oklahoma and Joe Mayo of Amarillo; 2 sisters-in-law Katherine Rabassi and husband Dale of Cape Coral, Florida and Margaret Brooks and husband David of Amarillo. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews as well as his Boys Ranch family which includes many special sons. Mr. Dunn was preceded in death by his sister, Delores Mayo, his parents, and two special sons from Boys Ranch who were killed in Iraq; SSG Tyler Simpkins and Specialist T.J. Carrillo. The family requests memorials to Cornerstone Baptist Church, 2410 W. 23rd, Pampa, TX 79065 or Cal Farley’s Boys Ranch, P.O. Box 1980, Amarillo, TX 79174-001. They would also like to give a special thanks to the Carlson Family for their love and support. Family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday March 1, 2016 from 6:00-7:00 PM.
