Betty Shotton Casey Frye

August 31, 1930 — March 4, 2016

Betty Shotton Casey Frye, 85, of Pampa, passed away peacefully in her home on March 4, 2016 in Pampa. Memorial services will be 10:00 AM Monday, March 7, 2016, at First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Ruby Moultrie, pastor, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Betty was born August 31, 1930 in Garden City, Kansas to Fern and John Shotton. She married Leo Casey on January 21, 1950 and moved to Pampa in 1957; where she had a long career in banking at Citizens Bank and Trust. Leo preceded her in death in 1981. She later married Harry Frye in 1986 and enjoyed the many years they had together. He preceded her in death in 2008. Betty was an excellent business woman as well as wife, mother, and grandmother. She also had a strong faith and was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church. She was a Board member of Gray County Red Cross, Tralee Crisis Center, and Altrusa International of Pampa. She was active in Gray County Heart Association, United Way fundraising and Chamber of Commerce fundraising. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law Bert and Melissa Casey, daughter and son-in-law Ann and Patrick Handren. And she was always beaming with pride for her grandchildren Brenna and William Casey and Matthew and Elizabeth Handren. The family is also grateful to the wonderfully kind caregivers. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, National Center, 7272 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas 75231; or the Alzheimer’s Association, National Headquarters, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl. 17, Chicago, Illinois 60601.
