Jesse L. "Jess" Dykes

Jesse L. “Jess” Dykes, 82 of Pampa, died March 15, 2016 in Pampa. Services will be 3:00 PM Thursday, March 17, 2016, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Rev. Norman Rushing, pastor of Central Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Dykes was born May 24, 1933 in Lefors, and was a lifetime resident of Pampa, graduating from Pampa High School in 1951. He married Vivian Kirbie on August 30, 1952 in Clovis, New Mexico. Jess worked for Phillips Petroleum, retiring as a supervisor after 41 years of service. He was a member of Central Baptist Church. Jess loved working in the yard, watching football, working crossword and “find a word” puzzles. Survivors include his wife, Vivian Dykes of the home; a daughter, Dana Ruth Phillips and husband Lonnie of Lake City, Florida; and a grandson, Casey Ashton Phillips of Lake City, Florida.
