Darby Jacob Schale, 37, of Pampa, died April 2, 2016 in Amarillo. Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 6, 2016, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel, with Nancy Ruff, parish associate pastor with First Presbyterian Church, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Darby was born October 17, 1978 in Amarillo. He was a 1997 graduate of Pampa High School and attended Texas Tech University in Lubbock for two years. He joined, and was baptized, at First Presbyterian Church in April of 1992. Darby worked for the past several years in maintenance at the VFW, worked as a plumber’s helper for several years, and was previously a manager at Allsup’s. Darby was an avid golfer and a very good pool player. He enjoyed watching all types of sports. He loved animals and was “Uncle Darby” to a lot of children. Survivors include his parents, Mike and Kadda Schale of Pampa; a brother, Landon Schale and wife Leona of Carrollton; a nephew, Miles Schale of Carrollton; a niece, Maeve Schale of Carrollton; his grandparents, Norma and Addie Hensley of Pampa. Darby was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Miles and Lola Ely; and two uncles, William Tucker and James Tucker.
