Laqueta Mary Smith

Laqueta Mary Smith, 76, of Pampa, slipped from this life into the eternal presence of Jesus, her Lord and Savior, on April 9, 2016. Memorial services will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, April 20, 2016, at First Baptist Church Parlor, with Rev. Barry Owens, associate pastor, officiating. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Miss Smith was born on January 27, 1940 in Pampa, to Wayman and Anna McPherson Smith. She worked a few years at Pampa Sheltered Workshop. She was a kind hearted lady. Laqueta will be remembered for her willingness to help a friend in need as she would give her last dollar to anyone. She would want special thanks given to Pampa Nursing Center Alzheimer’s nurses for the loving care she received the last year of her life, and also to her lifelong friend, Rosa Brewer, who has been a friend to offer her love and support for many years. Laqueta was preceded in death by her parents, and four brothers, J. C. Smith, W. F. Smith, J. G. Smith, and Frank Smith. Survivors include her daughter, Ginger Ann Smith of Ft.
