Joe Esdras Solis, 24, of Pampa, passed away April 19, 2016 in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Vigil will be at 6:30 PM, Thursday, April 21, 2016, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel in Pampa, with Father Francisco Perez, officiating. Funeral mass will be 10:00 AM Friday, April 22, 2016, at St. Vincent DePaul Catholic Church, with Father Francisco Perez, officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Joe was born in Pampa on August 7, 1991 to Jose and Gloria Solis. He was a lifelong Pampa resident who attended Pampa schools and graduated Pampa High School in 2009. Later he attended UTI in Houston. Joe worked in the construction business for many years in Pampa and abroad. He was formerly employed with J. E. Carlson, Safeway Construction in Borger, and at CCC Group in Oklahoma. Joe was a big sports fan and a huge Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He also liked cars, the outdoors, but most of all he loved being with his family. When you first met Joe, you would assume he was just a quiet, conservative person, but once you got to know him, you would quickly realize what a funny and outgoing person he was, always joking and just wanting to have a good time. He brought so much happiness to everyone who knew him. His family was very special to him. Joe will be remembered as a loving son, brother, brother-in-law, and friend. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Survivors include his parents, Jose and Gloria Solis of Pampa; three sisters, Donna Silva and husband Luis, and Madelyn Solis, all of Pampa, and Angel Hernandez of Baytown; one brother, Ray Hernandez of Baytown; paternal grandfather, Camilo Solis of Pampa; seven nephews, Thomas Silva, Tiago Silva, and Augustin Silva, all of Pampa, and Emmanuel Hernandez, Trae Hernandez, Rae Jr. Hernandez, and Jude Pena all of Baytown; and one niece, Jalise Pena of Baytown. Joe is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins and extended family. Joe was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Pedro and Maria Luisa Mireles; and by a paternal grandmother, Hortencia Solis.
