Larry D. Miller, 81, died Friday, April 22, 2016, in Amarillo. Services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Keith Feerer, pastor of Mary Ellen and Harvester Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery with Rev. Francisco Perez, father of St. Vincent dePaul Catholic Church, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Miller was born March 23, 1935 in Knox City. Larry retired from the US Post Office as a clerk in 1981. Larry was a veteran of the US Air Force serving during peacetime. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1953. He married Lorraine Lampke on February 9, 1974 in Amarillo. Larry had a passion for flying. He was a private pilot, corporate pilot and later became a multi-engine flight instructor. Survivors include his wife, Lorraine Miller of the home; two daughters, Sherry Holbert and husband Guy of Colleyville and Lisa Miller of Salem, Oregon; three sons, Lonnie Miller of Huntsville, Alabama, Donnie Miller of Salem, Oregon, and Gabriel Miller of the home; a daughter-in-law, Valerie Miller of Huntsville, Alabama, five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends Monday, April 25, 2016, from 6:00 to 7:30 PM, at the funeral home.
