Elwin M. Shipp, 63, of Pampa, died April 27, 2016 in Pampa. Services will be 10:00 AM Monday, May 2, 2016, at First Church of the Nazarene, with Pastor Jimmye Cole, officiating. Graveside services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, May 3, 2016, at Altus City Cemetery in Altus, Oklahoma, under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Shipp was born January 25, 1953 in Vernon. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1987. He married Tammy Shea on July 30, 2005 in Pampa. Elwin retired from Texas Department of Criminal Justice, in the educational building at the Jordan/Baten Units in 2012. He was a machinist at Howard Compressor Service and a mechanic at Dave’s Welding. Elwin attended First Church of the Nazarene. Survivors include his wife, Tammy Shipp of the home; four sons, Anthony M. Shipp and wife Amy of Kingwood, William J. Shipp and Joey P. Shipp and wife Angel, all of Muscle Shoals, Alabama, and Thomas P. Poplin of Pampa; a daughter, Rachel E. Poplin of Enid, Oklahoma; a brother, Glen Shipp and wife Kim of Rockwall; a sister, Carla Mulford and husband John of Altus, Oklahoma; and eight grandchildren. Elwin was preceded in death by his parents Carl Clifford Shipp and Birdie Iola Anderson Shipp; and two sons, Randy Busby and Elwin Caler.
