Carol Lynn Thompson, 66, of Pampa, died June 15, 2016 in Pampa. Memorial services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at First United Methodist Church, with Rev. Ruby Moultrie, pastor, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Thompson was born December 14, 1949 in Lubbock, and moved to Clarendon at an early age. She married Gene Thompson on November 21, 1987 in Clarendon. Carol worked for many years as a secretary and bookkeeper for her family-owned business, Chamberlain Motor Company in Clarendon. After the sale of the Motor Company, she worked at Gene Thompson Law Office as a bookkeeper. Carol was an avid football fan, enjoying watching the Dallas Cowboys, and enjoying her dogs. Survivors include her husband, Gene Thompson of the home; three nieces, Dr. Catherine Chamberlain and partner Sara Jennings of Baltimore, Maryland, Mary Margaret Rice of Austin, and Emily Fletke and husband Lance of New York City, New York; a nephew, Charlie Rice of Houston; a great niece, Riley Jennings-Chamberlain of Baltimore, Maryland; two sisters-in-law, Margaret Rice and husband Chuck of Dallas, and Diane Skelton and husband Sandy of Clarendon; and a brother-in-law, Jim Thompson and wife Cathy of Amarillo. Carol was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Jean Chamberlain; a brother, Trey Chamberlain; and a nephew, Christopher Chamberlain.
