Gerald R. Wyche, 79 of Pampa, passed away, June 17, 2016 in Amarillo. Graveside services will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at Memory Gardens in Pampa, with Rev. Jim Sinyard, pastor of Carpenter’s Church of Pampa, officiating. Masonic graveside rites are courtesy of Masonic Lodge #966. The burial will be under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors of Pampa. Gerald was born on a ranch north of Pampa to Roy and Callie Wyche. Gerald grew up working on ranches in the area until he went to work for the Texas Department of Transportation in 1964 where he would remain till his retirement in 1999. He married Shirley Slater on February 12, 1966 and she preceded him in death in 2009. Gerald was a mason and a member of Pampa Masonic Lodge #966 and Miami Masonic Lodge #805. He was also a Shriner. Gerald was a very talented musician and he played with several local and famous musicians/bands throughout the years. When he wasn’t making music, he liked to handcraft spurs. Gerald was also an avid gun collector. When he wasn’t home he liked to visit with his friends at Granny’s kitchen and then on to the North 40 Settlers restaurant. Gerald outlived most of his family but he survived by several close friends and many extended friends. Memorials can be made to PAWS, P.O. Box 2095 Pampa, Texas 79066-2095.
