Rex D. Waller

Rex D. Waller, 80, of Pampa, died July 31, 2016 in Pampa. Services will be 2:00 PM Thursday, August 4, 2016, at Briarwood Church, with Rev. Lynn Hancock, pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Waller was born September 16, 1935 in Clayton, New Mexico. He graduated from Dumas High School, and attended Oklahoma Panhandle State University, majoring in geology. He had been a resident of Pampa since 1977. Rex married Shirley Grant on May 6, 1978 in Dumas. He worked for Halliburton for over 46 years, retiring in 2006. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and spending time with his granddaughter and family. Rex was a member of Briarwood Church and American Petroleum Institute. Survivors include his wife, Shirley Waller of the home; three sons, Terry Waller and wife Susan of Trinity, Mark Waller and wife Debbie of Santa Maria, California, and Jim Sealy and wife Marianna of Pampa; six grandchildren, Telissa Goldsmith and husband Ryan and Autumn Darden, all of Pampa, Brandon Sealy of Addison, New York, Garret Spain of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Blake Waller and Cami Waller, both of Santa Maria, California; and three great grandchildren, Avery Sealy Goldsmith, Bentley Goldsmith and Zaedyn Goldsmith. The family wishes to extend a special thanks to the nurses at the Alzheimer’s Unit at Pampa Nursing Center, and the Interim Hospice staff for their loving care of Rex.
