Gary Lynn Carr, 64, of Miami, died August 13, 2016 in Spearman. Memorial services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, August 16, 2016, at First United Methodist Church of Miami, with Rev. Lewis Holland, officiating. Private burial will be in Miami Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Gary was born on July 30, 1952 in San Antonio, Texas to William “Cy” and Elizabeth “Liz” Carr. He had lived most of his life in Miami. In December of 2005, he moved to Happy, Texas to live with his foster parents, Larry and Camma Lou Tackitt and later moved to Hansford Manor in Spearman. Gary attended school in Miami and Pampa, and as he got older, he began working at the Pampa Sheltered Workshop and PMHMR. Gary loved everyone, especially his Sunday school class at Paramount Baptist Church. He loved all sports, but really loved watching college and pro football. He never complained about anything and had a fantastic memory. Gary loved to dance, participating in Special Olympics and bowling. When Gary was younger, he loved his pets and was very fond of his show calves which he had named Pat, Ronnie, and Flip Wilson. He was preceded in death by his parents; first guardian, Cathy Ballard; foster father, Larry Tackitt; and grandparents, Kiff and Ailene White. Survivors include his aunts and uncles, Frankie and Troy Sloan, Tommie and Jean White, and Zane Hall; foster mother, Camma Lou Tackitt; 2 foster brothers, Robert Lovato and Larry Bragg; and over 100 cousins.
