Noal B. Clemmons, 88, of Lefors, died August 17, 2016 in Amarillo. Graveside services will be 10:00 AM Saturday, August 20, 2016 at Fairview Cemetery, with Rev. Lewis Ellis, retired Baptist minister, officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Clemmons was born October 22, 1927 in Jacksboro. He was a lifelong resident of Lefors. He attended schools and graduated from Lefors High School in 1946 where he served as class president. After graduation, he enlisted in the U. S. Navy where he spent his time in Long Beach, California as a medical corpsman. After his discharge, he returned to Lefors and worked for Lefors Independent School District. During that time, he enrolled at West Texas State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree, and then later earned his Master’s degree in Education. Noal and Linda were married for 46 years. He was an avid golfer who came from a golfing family, and they always enjoyed playing together. Education was of paramount value to him and he passed that on to his family, especially his grandchildren. Noal was a proud veteran and served with many veterans organizations. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother, and will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Noal was preceded in death by his parents, George and Mary Clemmons; two grandsons, Brett Royal and Brice Royal; a sister, Espinita Tidmore; and two brothers, Bill Clemmons and Bob Clemmons. Survivors include his wife, Linda Clemmons of the home; a son, Eddy Vernon Clemmons of San Antonio; a daughter Brenda Martin and husband Ken of Raleigh, North Carolina; a brother, Eddy Clemmons and wife Anita of Spearman; seven grandsons, Eric Griffin and wife Micheko of Japan, Bo Clemmons of Dallas, Larry Griffin and wife Jeanna and Brad Griffin, all of Moore, Oklahoma, Tim Clemmons and Toby Clemmons, both of San Antonio, and Ben Clemmons of Iowa Park; four granddaughters, Marcy Royal and husband Brian of Norman, Oklahoma, Tamara Seidel and husband Mike and Michelle Clemmons, all of New Braunfels, and Alisha Luis and husband Micah of San Diego, California; 18 great grandchildren; mother-in-law, Faye Dean Miller of Pampa; brother-in-law, Butch Miller and wife Lana of Pampa; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.
