Jeff Orvel Brewer

Jeff Orvel Brewer, 89, of Pampa, died August 19, 2016 in Pampa. Services will be at 10:00 AM Monday, August 22, 2016, at Central Baptist Church, with Rev. Norman Rushing, pastor officiating. Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mr. Brewer was born March 13, 1927 in Springer, Oklahoma. He moved to Mobeetie at the age of two. Orvel joined the U. S. Army in 1945 and was discharged in 1947. He rejoined in 1950, and was discharged in 1953 as a staff sergeant. He married Rosa Augustin on October 31, 1953 in Mobeetie. He was married to the love of his life for almost 63 years. Orvel was a clerk for J & L Supply for 30 years and was then a pumper for Dunigan Operating for 12 years. He was a member and deacon at Central Baptist Church. Orvel was preceded in death by his parents, Jeff E. and Mary Brewer; a son, Rodney Brewer in 2014; and three sisters, Bulah Grimes, Audrey Alexander and Betty Talley. Survivors include his wife, Rosa Brewer of the home; a daughter, Margaret Gilmore and husband Richard of Mountainburg, Arkansas; a son, A. J. Brewer and wife Lindy of Washington, Oklahoma; a sister, Mary Sue Stephenson of Amarillo; a daughter-in-law, Libby Brewer of Canadian; eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren.
