Sonja Pacific Anderson

Sonja Pacific Anderson, 70, of Pampa, died September 13, 2016 in Pampa. There are no services scheduled at this time. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Anderson was born February 18, 1946 in Vallajo, California. She received multiple Master’s degrees in Physics from several universities, including University of Phoenix. She worked for the U. S. Department of Energy at the Hanford site in Richland, Washington as a nuclear physicist. Sonja had been a resident of Pampa for the past six years. She was a Lutheran and loved fishing and back packing. Survivors include her daughter, Christine Pacific of Seattle, Washington; a grandson, Theo Pacific of Seattle, Washington; a sister, Toni Connally and husband Pat of Pampa; a brother, John Pacific and wife Cathy of Utah; a niece, Traci Baumgardner of Seward, Alaska; and a nephew, Allen Baumgardner of Africa. Sonja was preceded in death by her parents, Bessie and Earl Lankford; and a nephew, Lee Baumgardner. Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
