Willie Montgomery

Willie Montgomery, 91, of Pampa, died September 18, 2016 in Pampa. There are no services scheduled. Mrs. Montgomery’s body was donated to Texas Tech School of Medicine in Lubbock. Arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors. Mrs. Montgomery was born August 20, 1925 in Collin County. She married Jerrell “Buddy” Montgomery on November 19, 1942 in McLean. He preceded her in death on April 12, 1996. Willie was a cosmetologist, and was the owner of The Black Gold Motel and restaurant, and Buddy’s Café. She was raised in the Pentecostal faith. Survivors include her daughter, Linda Ledgerwood of Ardmore, Oklahoma; a brother, Hiram Rawlings of Amarillo; four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. She was preceded in death by a son, Jerrell Ray Montgomery in 2004.
